Writer's Bloq, like Facebook, is a fantastic network designed for various people from around the world to get and stay connected. However, Writer's Bloq, as the name suggests, was primarily designed with writers in mind. I believe social media is a great starting point for new writers.

If I feel cautious about a situation, the chances of me taking the risk are not very high. I am an analytic person, I do not jump onto the "band wagon" until all my questions have been answered, the way I want them answered. This being said when it comes to turning down publishing opportunities, I guess that's just something I will have to assess when the moment comes.

I joined BrandYourself after Googling my own name, not because my results were bad, but because the weren't me. Only my Twitter account came up halfway down the page. In joining BrandYourself, I created a generic, strictly informational BrandYourself profile and linked it to my Google Plus, Twitter and Weebly blog accounts. I also added tags and information for search engines to recognize my name specifically on each of these sites, boosting each of their reputations.
According to the software used by BrandYourself, each of these sites should gain more credibility when searching for "Brittany Coughlin" and there is a way to track this progress, but I'm a bit of a skeptic. We'll just have to wait and see.

Without the money to buy a custom domain or the skills to code my own HTML, my website will always look somewhat generic, but I think content is also a great way to set yourself a part.
